Patrick Xavier Clark, 33, was released from the Harris County jail on Tuesday, according to court records. The release comes after Clarke and his lawyers attempted to lower bail.

Clark was arrested on December 1 and charged with murder. His attorney, Letizia Quinones, stated that Clark had “valid and meritorious self-defence claims.”

While Clark maintains his innocence, Houston police detectives maintain that he had a gun in one hand and a bottle of wine in the other when he was caught on camera firing his weapon.

Takoff, 28, was shot in the head and back on November 1 as more than 30 people left a private party at a bowling alley. Houston police said the shooting followed a controversy over a “profitable” dice game, but Takeoff was not involved and was an “innocent bystander”.

Takeoff, whose real name is Kirsnik Hari Ball, was a member of the Grammy-nominated rap group Migos along with his uncle Quavo and cousin Offset.

Clark will be under house arrest and will wear a GPS monitor on his ankle as part of his release. He is expected to return to court in March.
