Police say the man has not been charged at this time and they just want to talk to him about what happened.

Witnesses told police that the robber entered the restaurant and pointed a gun at the patrons, demanding money from them.

As the robber was collecting money from the patrons, one of the patrons, described as a white or Hispanic man, pulled out his own gun and shot the suspect several times.

The shooter took the stolen money from the suspect and returned it to other patrons. Then he and other patrons (victims) fled the scene.

Police officers later discovered that the robber, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was in possession of a plastic handgun. Officials have not identified the burglar but describe him as a black man in his 20s wearing all black clothing, including a black ski mask and black gloves.

Investigators are asking the shooter and victims who left the scene to contact HPD Homicide at 713-308-3600 and provide statements regarding the incident.
