Round Rock’s mother heartbroken after stealing daughter’s ashes

ROUNDROCK, TX (KXAN) — RoundRock’s Lily Nicole says she has almost nothing left of her late daughter Sa’Mia after thieves broke into her north Austin vault, clearing the place of valuables and a box with Sa’Miya’s things. ash.

Nicole’s family moved to Round Rock late last year from Colorado, staying for several months with her mother, who also lives in the city, until she found her own home.

Upon their arrival in Texas in October of this year, the family stored most of their belongings in a public storage facility in northern US-183.

Nicole says that about a month ago she received a call from the warehouse staff saying that the locks in her apartment were broken but there was no theft and that the company would replace the locks.

This Friday, Nicole and her family moved from her mother’s home to their home in Round Rock, arriving early at the warehouse to find that the ashes, televisions, computers and other items had been stolen.

Nicole says she believes thieves attacked her apartment a few weeks ago when the locks were broken on the apartment.

She has filed a complaint with the Austin Police Department and is asking anyone with information about the crime or who knows what happened to the ashes to report it.

“I don’t care about other things, I just want her back,” Nicole said.
