Before TCU takes the field against #1 ranked Georgia on Monday, January 9, we decided to see which San Antonio players you can recognize in the national championship. Here’s who we found.

A three-star recruit who attended Fork Union Military Academy and graduated from O’Connor High School, Senior Security Specialist Millard Bradford moved to TCU in 2019. In four seasons with the Horned Frogs, he recorded 170 tackles, 10 passes defended, one sack, one forced fumble, two interceptions, and one return touchdown with an interception.

Junior offensive lineman Brannon Brown appeared in 10 games for the Horned Frogs this season, including a CFP semi-final victory over second-ranked Michigan. According to his biography, Brown was a three-star recruit from O’Connor High School and enrolled at TCU at Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Houston, and SMU.
Curtis Raymond III
Senior tight end Curtis Raymond moved to TCU this season and has played eight games after three years at Cornell. Injuries and the COVID-19 pandemic only kept Raymond in one season at Cornell, recording 27 catches for 515 yards and four touchdowns. Raymond was a district receiver twice at Dripping Springs High School.

Freshman wide receiver Staton Ankrom originally enrolled at the University of the Incarnate Word from Reagan High School, but appears to have moved to TCU this season. He didn’t record any statistics with the Horned Frogs.

Crossing the field to Georgia, you’ll find nine Lone Star players on the Bulldogs’ roster. This includes the seat of kicker Jared Zirkel from Kerrville Teevee High School. Zirkel was the fifth player in the country after graduating from high school. Redshirted sophomore Zirkel is 1-for-1 on field goals this season.
TCU (13-1) and Georgia (14-0) will face off on Monday at 6:30 pm at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
