Several major traffic accidents in Central Texas: multiple injuries, closures

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin-Travis County EMS is responding to several accidents Monday at noon that could cause major traffic delays. According to them, several people were injured.

US-183 and Evelyn Road

First Failure reported a little before 14:00 Monday. EMS said it had responded to a two-vehicle crash involving several patients. They initially reported that three people were pinned down and two of them were unconscious.

EMS initially reported that two helicopters responded because Star Flight was busy, but those helicopters were called off.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, several people were taken by ambulances.

ATCEMS has been advised that there will be many first responders in the area and have asked you to avoid them if possible.

The Austin Fire Department incident page shows that they are also on the scene to rescue a car.

900 block I-35

ATCEMS also informed Around 2:00 pm, an accident occurred on Interstate 35 Highway 900 northbound. At first they said that two people could have been thrown out, but after arriving at the place they said that this was not the case.

Two ambulances arrived to help potential patients. There were no more updates.

I-35 on Sh-123

The Texas Austin Department of Transportation also tweeted that I-35 northbound on SH-123 in San Marcos was closed.

TxDOT reported that all lanes were closed at the time of the crash, but the San Marcos Police Department said the gravel spill was actually the cause of the closure.

They said they expect closures and delays in the area until around 5:00 pm Monday.
