HOUSTON (KIAH) — This Wednesday will be our warmest day of the week with near-record heat. Most highs will be above 70 degrees, but 80 degrees are possible if the clouds are clear enough. Record – 81.
However, a significant drop in temperature is coming. A cold front passes through Houston hours before sunrise on Thursday. Light rain and thunderstorms are possible along it near and south of Houston.
Any rain will likely be over by the time most people leave for their Thursday morning rides, but make sure you grab a jacket when you walk out the door. Not only will it be cooler, but it will also be quite windy with wind gusts of over 20 mph.

Temperatures will be around 60 early Thursday, then drop to 50 shortly after the front passes, then rise back to just above 60 in the afternoon.

In Houston’s 7-day forecast, notice how cold it gets on Friday morning and Saturday morning when temperatures drop to 30 (but not freezing).
Our weekend weather looks very nice with sunny skies on Saturday, then a fresh south wind starts to warm us up on Sunday.
