Shiv named new Main Street manager

Caleb Shreve, the former head of Central Services for the city of Greenville, has been named the city’s new superintendent of Main Street, city manager Summer Spurlock announced this week.

He will take the place of former manager Doyle Dick, who retired earlier this year.

Shreve is from Hunt County and grew up primarily in Lone Oak. His career has spanned several industries including management, worship ministry, heavy equipment operation, logistics, and the restaurant industry.

As Chief of Central Services, Shreve helped implement a number of improvements to the day-to-day processes of the building’s internal maintenance and cleaning services.

In 2021, Shreve was named City Worker of the Year by the city of Greenville, the city said in a statement.

“All the important life events that I have ever had happened in Greenville. I owe so much to this community for the life my family and I have built here. I can’t wait to work with the amazing people who make downtown a great place. I want to share with the world what makes us special and I’m so grateful to have Greenville as my home,” Shreve said.

His philosophy for work, home and all areas of life is to treat others the way you want to be treated. He strongly believes that the city of Greenville has much to offer its residents and those in the surrounding area.

According to a press release, his love for Greenville and his passion for the city’s prosperity were major assets in this position.

The Greenville Main Street manager played a key role in coordinating downtown activities, festivals, and a farmers’ market.

The manager also coordinated events at the Greenville Municipal Auditorium and was involved in the administration of city taxes on hotels and motels. The manager also sits on the Main Street Advisory Board.

Shreve loves sports, drones, plays the guitar, sings, plays video games with his kids, and watches his TCU horned frogs play football and basketball. His wife Alaina is a full-time nanny and they have three children, according to the city.

He is a member of the Rockwall Redeemer Church where he serves in the worship team and has recently been involved in global evangelism in South Asia.

He is also a member of the Greenville Kiwanis.
