Sports Scientist: Jalen Jackson, Sam Houston High School.

SAN ANTONIO – Meet the new Instant Replay Athlete of the Week, Sam Houston High School’s Jalen Jackson.

Jalen has been a member of the varsity basketball team for three years, where he was named the district’s first team in his junior season. He also played varsity football. Jalen is a member of the drama club and does community service through the local nursing home. Jalen has a GPA of 3.7 and is 21st in her class. Jalen plans to go to college and get a degree in sports management.

WHAT MEMORIES WILL YOU RUN WITH YOU WHEN YOU GRADUATE HIGH SCHOOL?

“My favorite high school memory is 31 points against Lanier high school. It was the first time I scored 31 points in a high school basketball game. I feel like I did my best in that game and reached my full potential.”

WHAT ADVICE DO YOU GIVE TO YOUR COMPANIONS?

“Keep motivated and develop relationships with your teachers. Always find time for your work.”

WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS AFTER HIGH SCHOOL?

“I plan to keep playing basketball, go to college and get into sports management.”
