Sugarloaf Charity Summit gala returns after two-year hiatus


CARRABASSETT VALLEY – The Sugarloaf Charity Summit Gala will return on Saturday, January 28 after a two-year absence due to COVID-19 related restrictions. The event promises drinks, snacks and live music from Dyer and the Dreammakers.

Doors will open at 5:30 pm and the event will take place in the King Pine Room at the Sugarloaf Base Lodge at 5012 Access Road in the Carrabasset Valley. The event will kick off at 6:30 pm with programming followed by awards, sponsorship recognition and survivor recognition. The direct auction will take place at 19:30.

Tickets for the gala can be purchased at Lottery tickets will also be available for a chance to win a two-year subscription to Sugarloaf. The winner will be selected at a gala and tickets will be available for purchase in person at Mountainside Real Estate at 5092 Access Road in Carrabastet Valley until January 28th.

For the previous two years, the Sugarloaf Charity Summit has streamed its programming and auctions live online, but now that COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted, the gala will be back in full force.

The Charity Challenge will also take place on January 28. Adult participants must raise $150 to receive a wearable Charity Challenge ID that will serve as a pass to all Charity Challenge events and will also entitle you to various discounts/promotions at numerous local businesses during the weekend of the Summit. Assemblers may participate individually or as a team. Each team member must raise $150 to qualify.

After $150 is raised, attendees will receive additional rewards for every additional $500 they raise for the Charity Summit. The different levels are as follows:

• $500: $25 Sugarloaf Gift Card and three lottery tickets to the Sugarloaf Charity Summit.

• $1,000: One-of-a-kind commemorative Charity Summit logo and one complimentary lift ticket for the 2023/2024 season. [valid through May 31, 2024].

• $1,500: Two tickets to the 2023 Charity Summit Gala on January 28th.

• $2,000: Exclusive Sugarloaf Sea Bag.

• $3,000: Private First Runs with Ski Patrol and breakfast at Bullwinkle’s on January 28th. [This offer is only valid for the first 20 individuals who reach this goal. Each recipient will also be able to bring a guest.]

The top individual fundraiser will receive a $750 gift card to the Downhill Supply Company, and the top team fundraisers will receive an exclusive first ski patrol opportunity for a group of up to 10 people in Sugar Loaf where they will climb the lifts. at 6:45 AM This trip will be available any day upon prior notice and is valid until Spring 2023.

Children and teenagers may participate with a different set of awards. They must raise at least $50 to be eligible for the reward, and the top fundraiser will receive a $300 Sugarloaf Charity Challenge hat.

Top youth team fundraisers will receive a private party at the Narrow-Gauge Cinemas in Farmington. The party will include rental of a private cinema, a movie of your choice, and popcorn and a drink for all participants.
