Taylor police find alcohol in cars involved in fatal crash

TAYLOR, TX (KXAN) — The Taylor Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that occurred over the weekend.

Police responded to a major collision at 4300 North Main Street around 11 p.m. Saturday.

According to TPD, a 2016 Chevrolet pickup truck was driving south and entered the northern lanes, where it collided head-on with a 2003 GMC Yukon that was traveling north.

The Chevrolet driver died at the scene, and two GMC passengers were taken to hospital with injuries.

Police found open containers of alcoholic beverages in both cars, the report said.

Whether intoxication will contribute to the accident will be determined by the results of a forensic toxicology report, according to TPD.

At the time of publication of the article, there were no criminal charges.

This is the first fatal accident of the year in Taylor.
