DEL RIO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A 16-year-old smuggler led a pursuit by Texas Department of Public Safety officials, authorities said.
In a video uploaded to social media by Lt. Christopher Olivarez of the Texas Department of Public Safety, three people are seen jumping out of a car during the chase, and a third person falls out of an open door as the jeep speeds away.
The DPS said the three migrants were later detained by the US Border Patrol.
The 16-year-old driver led a high-speed chase down US 277 in Val Verde County before jumping out of the car and crashing into the area.
The teen and a passenger were found hiding inside a car in the backyard. According to Olivares, they were detained on the spot and arrested for smuggling.
