The Children’s Museum of Houston will hold its 27th annual Martin Luther King Day celebration

HOUSTON (KIAH) — As Martin Luther King Jr. Day arrives Monday, the Children’s Museum of Houston will host an event on Saturday honoring the legendary civil rights leader and his legacy.

The museum will have 27th the annual celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Saturday, January 14th.

Prior to the start of the events, there will be a demonstration of African heritage food products hosted by Prairie View A&M University.

Then, starting at noon, there will be a performance by international violinist Jamie Perry, a Children’s Committee peace march, and a re-enactment of MLK’s infamous “I Have a Dream” speech, along with worship dancers from Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church.

Other activities for kids at Junktion include creating dream clouds to change the world, making peace doves as a symbol of peace, and making a stellar promise to be kind and fair to all.

Tickets for the event are on sale at a special price of $5 for everyone.

The Houston Children’s Museum is located at 1500 Binz Street in the Museum District.
