The Feds will not seek the death penalty in El Paso’s Walmart mass shooting that killed 23 people.

Federal prosecutors said Tuesday they will not seek the death penalty in the federal case against the man accused of the Aug. 3, 2019 Walmart shooting that killed 23 people.

Patrick Wood Crusius is facing multiple federal hate crimes and firearm possession charges in federal court for the Western District of Texas.

Federal prosecutors have filed a court notice that “the government will not seek the death penalty” in cases of domestic terrorism targeting Hispanics.
