Rice University of Houston is the hardest college to get into in Texas, according to Niche, a website that specializes in college data and resources. Opened in 1912, Rice is often ranked among the best universities in the country.

U.S. News & World Report ranked Rice University in second place. 15 (shared with Washington University in St. Louis) in its current ranking of the best national universities. According to US News, the approval rate for rice is 9%.

The next most difficult university in Texas, according to Niche’s 2023 “Toughest Colleges to Get Into America” ​​ranking, is much further down the list: The University of Texas at Austin, which is ranked 78th most difficult in the nation as a whole.
