SAN ANTONIO, Texas (ValleyCentral) – Officials from the San Antonio Transportation Security Administration found an 84mm weapon in a man’s luggage on Monday.
The TSA said in a tweet that the weapon was not declared, which is a requirement when traveling with firearms.
According to the TSA website, a person may carry an unloaded firearm in a “lockable hard container” as checked baggage, and the firearm or ammunition must be declared.
“Bringing an unloaded firearm with available ammunition into a checkpoint carries the same administrative penalty/fine as bringing a loaded firearm into a checkpoint,” the statement said.
The TSA did not provide details on whether the person was charged or fined.
