GALVESTON, Texas. Two people were found dead a few miles off Seawall Boulevard on Christmas Day and Galveston police said they could both be linked to drug overdoses.
Around 7:20 p.m., police said they had answered calls about a possible overdose. One was along the Seawall near 83rd Street and the other was along the Seawall near 53rd Street—about 2 miles apart.
When emergency personnel arrived there, they found the patients unconscious, each taken to a district hospital, where they were pronounced dead. The names of the dead have not been released, and police said they are waiting until they notify next of kin.
Police said they were investigating the circumstances of the death and more information would be released at a later date. The official cause of death will be determined by the Galveston County Medical Examiner’s Office.
