Two teenagers critically injured in shooting near Fort Worth Wataburger

Police said two teenagers were critically injured in a shooting near a Whataburger restaurant in south Fort Worth on Friday afternoon.

Officers responded to the 2400 block of West Berry Street, near Forest Park and McCarth Avenue, after a caller reported that the child had been shot just after 4 p.m. Friday, according to police call logs.

A police spokesman confirmed the injuries to KXAS-TV (NBC5), but authorities did not provide further details, including what may have led to the shooting and whether the gunman was apprehended.

ISD in Fort Worth said it has locked down Easter High School, which is near the shooting site, to all extracurricular activities. The evening basketball game has been rescheduled. The county did not say if the students were involved in the shooting.
