Vote for the State High School Girls’ Basketball Player of the Week.

 

It’s time to vote for the State High School Player of the Week from Midlands High Schools and games played January 16-21. Voting ends Friday at noon. The winner will be announced on Lou Bezjak’s Twitter page.

Coaches can send nominations to Lou Bezjak by 10:00 a.m. Tuesday.

The nominees are listed below. Please note that these surveys are not scientific and are intended for entertainment purposes only.

Joyce Edwards Jr., Camden: Junior averaged 30.3 points, 12 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 blocks in the Bulldogs’ three wins.

Terin Hobson, 8th grade, Lugoff-Elgin: The eighth grader had 16 points, 6 steals, 4 rebounds, 2 blocks in a single LE game last week.

Chi’Nya Isaac, Sofia, Lower Richland: The sophomore averaged 19.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 4 steals in two Diamond Hornets wins.

Lauren Jacobs, Soph., Heathwood Hall: The sophomore averaged 25 points and 9 rebounds in two Heatwood wins last week.

Samira Khalil Jr., Hammond: Junior averaged 21.5 points, 3 rebounds and 1.5 steals in two Skyhawks games last week.

Skylar McCray, oh, AC Flora: The freshman scored a career-high 17 points, 5 rebounds and 2 steals in the Falcons’ only game last week in a win over Lugoff-Elgin.

Ziel Ratchford, Soph., Spring Valley: The sophomore averaged 18 points, 7 rebounds, 1.5 steals in two Vikings wins last week.

India Williams, father, Blythewood: The freshman averaged 13 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 assists in two Bengals games last week.
