The Spurs announced Friday that they are within 5,000 tickets of breaking an NBA game attendance record and 8,000 tickets of reaching the Alamodome’s 65,000-seat capacity for the game.
The Spurs are approaching the current record of 62,046 balls set in 1998 at the Georgia Dome in a game between the Chicago Bulls and the Atlanta Hawks. Another historic twist was the first NBA game played at the Alamodome between the Spurs and the Warriors on November 5, 1993.
The Alamodome game will be the organization’s largest celebration of the organization’s 50th anniversary with limited merchandise, pre-game and post-game parties at HEB Plaza, 90s rap duo “Tag Team” performing at halftime fireworks and more.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early to take part in the many in-game celebrations and features celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Spurs in San Antonio.
To help the Spurs break the all-time record, fans can purchase remaining tickets at the Alamodome box office, online at Ticketmaster.com or in the Spurs app starting at $10. Limit of six per person.
