Another senseless act of gun violence occurred this morning, this time at the Family Research Council headquarters in Washington D.C. The gunman, identified as Floyd Lee Corkins II, 28, was stopped by a security guard, who was shot in the arm. Corkins, who posed as an intern to gain access into the building, expressed disagreement with the conservative group’s policy positions, Fox News reports. Police said when the guard, who was not identified, asked him where he was going, he opened fire. The FBI is reportedly probing the incident. Floyd Lee Corkins II volunteered quite often at a LGBT center. He was holding a Chik-fil-A bag when he entered the building.
