House Republicans will vote next week to raise the debt ceiling for three months and it will include a provision that would stop pay for members of Congress if the Senate doesn’t pass a budget, GOP officials said. So much for a rogue group of House GOP members holding the country hostage to get their way.
This comes as Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) said Congress won’t allow the country to default. Um, that’s not what was being pushed by some members of his party.
Um, are they finally beginning to see that President Obama isn’t a monarch after all but was given a mandate by the people in November 2012 election? In other words, they caved to Obama. But in all seriousness, why three months? Why can’t this be set for a long enough period of time so that it won’t be a problem in the very near future?
