Jets quarterback Geno Smith (@Eugene GenoSmith) pulls the race card after he was kicked off Virgin America airlines out of Los Angeles International Airport on Friday for refusing to get off his cell phone. He was asked by the flight crew three times to get off his phone and he didn’t comply. Egotist. #GenoSmith
Geno Smith’s response to the dustup: The Daily News reports a source said “he didn’t know why he was being kicked off the flight. He said it was because he was black.” Like Rev. Al Sharpton says of the underhanded Republican tactics — nice try, but we got you! Traveling while black doesn’t apply to Geno Smith. He was just being rude and having a sense of entitlement. #IJS
Virgin America didn’t allow him to re-book his flight. The pilot reportedly didn’t want him on the flight.
Of course, the airlines’ account differs dramatically from Geno Smith’s account. The source told the NY Daily News that a flight attendant ripped off Geno Smith’s headphones, which started the whole dustup.
