ESPN Suspends Announcer Bob Griese For Racist Remark he Made About NASCAR Driver Juan Pablo Montoya

Another ESPN on-air personality is in the hot seat. Bob Griese was suspended for a racist remark he made about NASCAR driver Juan Pablo Montoya last Saturday. During the Ohio State/Minnesota game, the NASCAR promotion turned downright nasty when broadcaster Chris Spielman asked where Montoya was in the standings … then Griese let this gem fly out of his mouth: “He’s out having a taco.” Montoya is a Colombian.

ESPN has suspended Griese off the air for one week. ESPN spokesman Josh Krulewitz said Griese “understands the comment was inappropriate.” This latest drama comes after hotpants Steve Phillips was fired after news broke about his extramarital affair with a nutjob who also worked for ESPN.
