Fallout Continues Over Newt Gingrich Comments About NAACP, Blacks and Foodstamps (Wikipedia)
I deliberately stayed out of the fray yesterday when Newt Gingrich’s racially-charged comments about the NAACP, blacks and foodstamps hit the blogosphere. There is only one way to deal with this deliberate divisive and racially motivated language — go out to vote in droves and prove our critics wrong. I don’t know why people like Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum seem to believe most blacks are on food stamps, when the opposite is true. Newt Gingrich is a self-righteous, adulterous, hypocritical, divisive and superficial person who thinks he’s the best person to be our next president when nothing could be furthest from the truth.
“And so I’m prepared if the NAACP invites me, I’ll go to their convention and talk about why the African American community should demand paychecks and not be satisfied with food stamps,” Gingrich said earlier today in Plymouth, N.H. Source: ABC News
Yes, there are blacks who could do a whole lot better than they have settled for, including getting the proper training to find good jobs. But I am black and no, I have never been on food stamps nor have I ever received any other type of hand-out from the government nor do I want to. The problem is, we have people like Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum who believe they know what’s best for the black community. It’s bad enough we have to deal with the likes of Rev. Jesse Jackson.
Hey, Newt, we don’t need you to become the “white knight” for the black community, while hurling insults at our community and snickering under your breath. This is a prime example of why blacks and Latinos are running to the Democrats. Not because the Democratic Party has the best interest of both groups at heart, but because of racial bigotry from the likes of you.
Let me also add, that Newt Gingrich did consulting work with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, two government-backed entities that played a big role in the housing crisis that has caused many black homeowners to end up in foreclosure and lose their homes. So, the last person who I would envision as our “White Knight in shining armor” is Mr. Tiffany’s Newt Gingrich.
