DETROIT MURDER-SUICIDE: Convicted felon Larry Crawford killed girlfriend Shawanda Spratling and later took his life when he during a police chase in an apparent murder-suicide.
Shawanda Spratling, 33, was found beaten in the face and shot in the back of the head. Larry Crawford, 35, had been released from prison in January for assault, arson, felony firearms and resisting arrest charges, Click on Detroit reports.
Crawford killed himself when police from Detroit and Southfield were in pursuit in Freeland after tracking him through two stick-ups.
It is not clear why Shawanda Spratling reportedly rekindled a relationship with Crawford, since he had previously broken into a family home, her father, Fred Spratling, told Click on Detroit. He said he had no idea the two were seeing each other again because he would have definitely been against that. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Fred Spratling and his family.
