Actor Morgan Freeman gives $1 million to Obama super PAC, PAC Priorities USA Action. Freeman praised President Obama’s record and Priorities USA for its role in the 2012 presidential campaign.

Politico:  “President Obama has done a remarkable job in historically difficult circumstances.  He ended combat operations in Iraq, put in place sensible reforms of Wall Street, saved the auto industry and protected the health care of every American. He has led our nation to be more tolerant and placed impressive, accomplished women on the Supreme Court. In return, he is the target of hundreds of millions of dollars from right-wing sources,” Freeman said. “I am proud to lend my voice — and support — to those who defend him. Priorities USA Action is doing a great job of protecting the values I believe in.  I am happy to help them and I hope others will join me.”

You go Morgan, show them what you are working with! This is coming from the same person who said President Obama isn’t the first black president, but the first biracial president. Go figure.

    Wow Janet – I was expecting some transparent analysis from you but instead you chose to do a “Mystical” rant.

    * He ended combat operations in Iraq,
    I am still trying to get my head around this one as an ACCOMPLISHMENT. Should we then make the case that any US combat troops killed after January 20 2009 are not Obama’s responsibility because this was “Bush’s War”?

    WHAT ABOUT Libya, an invasion that was done on the pretext of a “Humanitarian Mission”. Along with the drones in Yemen and Pakistan?

    * put in place sensible reforms of Wall Street,
    No comment. Here nor there.

    * saved the auto industry
    SAVED IT………………….from WHOM?
    Banks that needed a bailout are attacked.
    GM and Chrysler who failed to do as Ford did years ago to cut costs received government debt money to keep union workers employed. Why is it that Delta Air Lines and United filed bankruptcy and are now back strong – yet we are to believe that if GM and Chrysler did not receive government money they would have gone belly up.

    * and protected the health care
    of every American.
    REALLY?
    If Southwest Medical Center closed down several years ago because they could not survive on Medicaid reimbursements, as the majority of the Black people with jobs with insurance drove past it and down to Piedmont and Crawford Long – what exactly has changed between now and then? IF the facility opens back up MORE Medicaid patients will line up outside and the hospital STILL will be in arrears.
    Or did I miss something?

    WOW. I figured that not even Janet would buy this one without a bit more qualification. I am positive that Freeman did not cheer Reagan when he appointed O’Connor so he must really be happy about a CERTAIN TYPE OF WOMEN and not women specifically.

    * In return, he is
    the target of hundreds of millions of dollars from right-wing sources,”
    Freeman said

    WOW. Obama got BLACK COMMUNITY INSTITUTIONS to compromise themselves, remaining silent on issues like Libya and Drones. They did so because they thought that they would receive BILLIONS in SOCIAL JUSTICE FUNDING. But in truth this money is DEBT CAPITALISTIC MONEY manufactured by the Federal Reserve to the tune oe $16 TRILLION in debt.

    While Freeman is a good host for “Through The Wormhole” I am not sure that he is ready to give a vision to Black people in which we think more INDEPENDENT of the AMERICAN FEDERAL GOVERNMENT and POLITICAL SYSTEM.

    Janet:

    I take it that you now agree with Obama’s sudden change of mind in support of SuperPACs after he made the progressives happy with his original stance against them.

    Just as the Black Community Institutions have compromised themselves BECAUSE they tell themselves they DON’T WANT TO RETAIN THEIR PRINCIPLES AND DIGNITY but LOSE TO THE EXTERNAL ENEMY – THE GOP………………Obama as a politician is prone to change his mind.

    I am not mad at Obama for doing or saying whatever he needs to win……………………I am looking at the BLACK COMMUNITY and the course that it has followed in politics for more than 50 years and I am looking out for a PAYOFF that has translated into ORGANIC BENEFIT for our community.

    Am I missing something Janet?
