FALLEN LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER: Police Officer Josh Williams was killed when his patrol car was struck by a drunk driver early Saturday morning in Waxahachie, TX, as he was responding to a disturbance at a fast-food restaurant.
According to Officer Down Memorial Page, Officer Williams’ patrol car was struck on the passenger side by an SUV that was driving without its headlights on. The driver of the SUV was taken into police custody. Officer Josh Williams was pronounced dead at the Baylor Medical Center.
Police Chief Chuck Edge said “Josh was very well known and well liked in our community. He was a great guy and a great officer. His death is a tremendous loss for the Waxahachie Police Department and the community,” the Star-Telegram reports.
Officer Williams, who served with the Waxahachie Police Department for 17 years, is survived by his wife and three children
