SMH: Rep. Eleanor Norton Tweets Mitt Romney Shot Whole Wad During First Debate

Rep. Eleanor Norton probably regrets her tweet about Mitt Romney’s debate performance — “he shot his whole wad during the first debate.” Um, really? Bad choice of words.

President Obama won the second presidential debate at Hofstra University decisively and the performance was strong. Mitt Romney has Gerald Ford moment when he said the morning after the attacks on the U.S. consulate on Libya he didn’t call it a terror attack but went off on fundraising stops. Candy Crowley had to fact-check Mitt Romney mid-debate, saying that he did mention terrorism in his statement in the Rose Garden.

Romney tried to bully Candy Crowley and it backfired in a big way. She, like Martha Raddatz, did a superb job. Romney’s facts just don’t add up and I am glad President Obama pointed them out decisively. Romney also made a huge miscalculation when he talked about being for the 100 percent in his closing argument. Obama scored a knock-out when he ended by slamming Mitt Romney for his 47 percent insult.

Mitt Romney was very condescending and rude to Candy Crowley and as a woman, I find it appalling and shows him to be the bully that cut his classmate’s hair. In closing, what are “binders full of women?” That comment was made by Mitt Romney and it is trending on Twitter. President Obama turned it around!

SCOTUS Declines to Block Early Voting in Ohio in Blow to Jon Husted Voter Suppression Drive

BREAKING NEWS:  The US Supreme Court refuses to block early voting in Ohio, delivering a major victory to the Obama campaign and the voters of Ohio. This is a slap in the face of Secretary of State Jon Husted and his quest to engage in voter suppression.

Here’s the court’s ruling in one sentence:  “The Supreme Court’s order was one line long: “The application for stay presented to Justice [Elena] Kagan and by her referred to the Court is denied.” Case closed. Next…..

Is the Supreme Court going to swing another election? That’s what Slate magazine asks in an article:  “With the presidential race tight in Ohio, and the presidency potentially turning on the state’s electoral votes, the court’s decision could help determine who will win the White House. While the Obama campaign has a strong policy argument for the extension of early voting to include this final weekend, its constitutional claim is a major stretch.”

SHAMEFUL: At a recent pep rally for the Waverly High School NY football team, a group of students performed a skit in “blackface” depicting Chris Brown beating Rihanna. The CNN citizen journalist Matt Dishler iReport states that the writer of the skit, noted that it was approved by school administrators, though Waverly (NY) Schools Superintendent Joseph Yelich claims he was not aware of it prior to the rally.

“Three white students performed a skit in black face, depicting Chris Brown and Rhianna most notably. In this skit they would display acts of domestic violence as satire to an audience that included not only students but parents, faculty, and various members of the media and community leaders. None of them stopped the skit.”

All over on Twitter and Facebook students are defending the skit, with one Chris Brown apologist says the performer would “whoop some ass” if he knew about this.

Superintendent Yelich statement: “The Waverly School District is committed to creating a positive atmosphere through our activities. I will be working with our building administrators, our staff and our student.”

The richest man of all time was reportedly an African ruler, Mansa Musa I. His personals worth is estimated to be $400 billion at the time of his death in 1331, adjusted for inflation. Mansa Musa I ruled the Malian Empire, which today encompasses Ghana, Timbuktu and Mali.

His country’s production of more than half the world’s supply of salt and gold contributed to Musa’s vast wealth, which he used to build large mosques that still stand today.

According to the writings of Arab-Egyptian scholar Al-Umari, Musa inherited his throne through a practice of appointing a deputy after the king goes on his pilgrimage to Mecca; later naming the deputy as heir.

Musa was appointed deputy of the king before him, who had reportedly embarked on an expedition to explore the limits of the Atlantic ocean, and never returned.

Just two generations after his death, however, Musa’s world record net worth was diminished after is heirs were not able to fend off civil war and invading conquerors. Source

Sen. John McCain: Hillary Clinton Accepting “Responsibility” for Consulate Attack “Laudable Gesture”

Here’s a press release from the Republicans on Secretary of State Hillary Clinton accepting “responsibility” for the Benghazi attack. It is quite clear, from the tone of the press release that they have no intention whatsoever of going after Hillary Clinton. In fact, the senators lay the blame squarely at the feet of President Obama.

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senators John McCain (R-AZ), Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) today released the following statement on Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s comments this evening regarding the terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi on September 11, 2012:

“We have just learned that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has claimed full responsibility for any failure to secure our people and our Consulate in Benghazi prior to the attack of September 11, 2012. This is a laudable gesture, especially when the White House is trying to avoid any responsibility whatsoever.

“However, we must remember that the events of September 11 were preceded by an escalating pattern of attacks this year in Benghazi, including a bomb that was thrown into our Consulate in April, another explosive device that was detonated outside of our Consulate in June, and an assassination attempt on the British Ambassador. If the President was truly not aware of this rising threat level in Benghazi, then we have lost confidence in his national security team, whose responsibility it is to keep the President informed. But if the President was aware of these earlier attacks in Benghazi prior to the events of September 11, 2012, then he bears full responsibility for any security failures that occurred. The security of Americans serving our nation everywhere in the world is ultimately the job of the Commander-in-Chief. The buck stops there.

“Furthermore, there is the separate issue of the insistence by members of the Administration, including the President himself, that the attack in Benghazi was the result of a spontaneous demonstration triggered by a hateful video, long after it had become clear that the real cause was a terrorist attack. The President also bears responsibility for this portrayal of the attack, and we continue to believe that the American people deserve to know why the Administration acted as it did.”

Hillary Clinton Didn’t Get Obama Off the Hook By Taking “Responsibility” for Benghazi Terrorist Attack

Some people feel Hillary Clinton may have gotten President Obama off the hook with taking “responsibility” for the US consulate attack in Benghazi, Libya, that left four Americans dead — Chris Stevens, Sean Smith, Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty. I still think this mess goes further up the chain and ends in the White House.

During the 2008 presidential campaign, then-Senator Hillary Clinton said, “the buck stops with the White House.” Well, that’s playing out all over again. The problem is, this is a stark departure from what she said then to what is playing out today.

That year, then-Senator Clinton criticized then Senator Obama during the Democratic primary, seizing on comments Obama had made about being a President who would inspire and provide a vision for the country and not make sure “everything’s running on time.”

“Being President means being both CEO and COO of one of the largest and most complex organizations in the world,” Clinton said.

“I know that we can get on top of this, but it’s going to require strong presidential leadership — it’s going to require a President who knows from day one you have to run a government and manage the economy,” Hillary Clinton added, using the flailing economy to hit Obama. “The buck stops in the Oval Office.” Source

Vice President Joe Biden may not have known what happened, but I would venture to say President Obama did and that’s why the buck stops with him. The Clintons are too shrewd and calculating a team to have her take the blame for this just like that. No. There’s more to this story.

Trouble for Democrats as Left-Leaning Daily Kos Poll Shows Mitt Romney With Four Point Lead Nationally

Obama vs. Romney 2012

Trouble for Democrats as Left-Leaning Daily Kos Poll Shows Mitt Romney With Four Point Lead Nationally (Photo credit: DonkeyHotey)

All eyes will be on President Obama at the presidential debate tonight at Hofstra University. This is his last chance to stop Mitt Romney surge in the polls and to save his presidency from evaporating before his eyes. I cannot believe he dropped the ball as his first debate and now, one of his strongest demographics is eroding fast — women.

Obama should have been cruising to a victory, instead Democrats are fretting on whether he will perform a hundred times better than the Denver debate. We’ll just have to see. I don’t know if I can even watch this, since Mitt Romney has had so much more experience in debating in this campaign cycle than the president. I will say this, I will decide if I am sticking with Obama after tonight’s debate. If President Obama rebounds, great. If he doesn’t, then I will not support the ticket.

Trouble for the Democrats as a new Daily Kos/SEIU/Public Policy Polling survey shows Mitt Romney jumping to a four point lead over President Obama nationally among likely voters, 50% to 46%. The Daily Kos is a left-wing website and Public Policy Polling is a left-leaning polling outfit. If they are polling these numbers, it must be worst than many people first thought.

It’s amazing that former president Bill Clinton can explain things better than President Obama. What’s going on with Obama, cat’s got his tongue? I recall Hillary Clinton saying in 2008 that it takes a Clinton to clean up behind a Bush. Um, it takes a Clinton to clean up behind an Obama too. Boy does he owe these two big.
