Dawn Hochsprung, Principal of Sandy Hook Elementary, Killed by Adam Lanza in Newtown School Shooting

Sandy Hook Elementary School principal Dawn Hochsprung among deceased in shooting rampage. Also killed at the school was school psychologist Mary Sherlach. Adam Lanza killed 26, including 20 kids and six adults, in the second worst school shooting massacres in America’s history, behind the Virginia Tech shooting.

Separately, more than 25,000 have signed a petition calling on the Obama administration to address gun control and push through legislation in Congress. The gunman used three guns — Glock, Sig Sauer and a .223 Bushmaster — all registered to his mother, Nancy Lanza. Adam Lanza has no criminal history.

Huffington Post:  In a letter to parents this fall,Hochsprung outlined new security procedures, which included checking identification for visitors if they were not recognized by staff.

“Please understand that with nearly 700 students and over 1,000 parents representing 500… families, most parents will be asked to show identification,” Hochsprung wrote in the letter, which was addressed to “Members of our Sandy Hook Family.”

The letter also stated that all visitors arriving at the school after 9:30 a.m., when the front gates were locked, would have to ring a bell for entry and would immediately have to report to the main office to sign in.
