NEWTOWN SHOOTING MASSACRE:  The right wing evangelical patrol is out giving their two cents on the Newtown shooting massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School that left 20 kids and six adults dead. Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, who hosts his own show on Fox News, said Adam Lanza’s shooting rampage occurred because God has been taken out of our schools. The next right wing lunatic to offer his two cents is Bryan Fischer, who said  “God is not going to go where he’s not wanted,” because God is a “gentleman.”

Mike Huckabee’s comments:

“Well, you know, it’s an interesting thing. We ask why there is violence in our schools but we have systematically removed God from our schools. Should we be so surprised that schools would become a place of carnage? Because we’ve made it a place where we don’t want to talk about eternity, life, what responsibility means, accountability – that we’re not just going to have be accountable to the police if they catch us, but one day we stand before, you know, a holy God in judgment. If we don’t believe that, then we don’t fear that. And so I sometimes, when people say, why did God let it happen. You know, God wasn’t armed. He didn’t go to the school. But God will be there in the form of a lot people with hugs and with therapy and awhole lot of ways in which he will be involved in the aftermath. Maybe we ought to let him in on the front end and we wouldn’t have to call him to show up it’s all said and done at the back end.”

Saturday Night Live alum wingnut Victoria Jackson is also weighing in on the shooting. Here are her Facebook entries:

You may or may not agree with what these guys said but my question is: What’s hateful about their comments? I suspect there’s a nut involved in this article but not these guys.

  • Janet:

In the novel that you are writing – does a Right Wing Republican move to Montego Bay and murder Black people and then Barack Obama sends an American CIA Drone into Jamaican airspace to kill the killer?

With regard to the tragic shooting in CT – I figured that you would have more to say about “WHY NOW”?

27 Black people are murdered in Chicago in one month’s time.
MY PASTOR says that GOD has the power to alter the index of TIME as NATURAL PROCESSES are allowed to conduct themselves, TIME being the variable.

WHY are you concerned about 27 White folks but can’t bring yourself to look at the inability of the people who GET THE BLACK VOTE to string together a plan to stop the killing of Black people that FOCUSES ON BLACK PEOPLE instead of manufacturing plants.

You are the one expousing hateful rhetoric. Anyone who does not repeat the liberal mantras are labled “nuts.” Why can’t we have meaningful dialogue in this country, where we can present our feelings in an atomosphere of open discussion without fear of being ostrasized by those who cannot tolerate opinions other than their own.

These comments are in no way ‘hateful’. They express personal opinions and like a$$holes, we all have them… all of us. Moreover, we are granted the right to express them by the US Constitution. This doesn’t mean that we have to agree with them or that I even agree with them. But I did feel obliged to remind you that there’s already too much politics being fed into this tragedy and the last thing we all need is another reason to bicker.

YOU are the ‘wingnut’ here! Don’t call yourself a journalist…journalists are to only report facts and trust that their readers can come to their own conclusions. Our country is erroding because GOD is no longer put first. The Commandments are put in place for our own protection and if everyone in the world would follow them, there would be peace. May the souls of all the victims rest in peace and may their loved ones know peace. Amen.
