Jason Lewis Fatally Shot Inside Brooklyn Diner by Drunk Man Celebrating 26th Birthday

JESUS TAKE THE WHEEL:  Jason Lewis was killed by a drunk man who was celebrating his 26th birthday. The man was arrested at the Country House Diner in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn early Sunday, after Jason Lewis tried to keep him from harassing a woman inside the diner. The NY Daily News reports the inebriated man grabbed the woman, who protested.

The woman protested, and when Lewis tried to separate the pair, the drunk smacked him, according to witnesses. “Why’d you smack me?” Lewis asked. “We don’t have to shed blood for this.”
The gunman disagreed, shooting Lewis once in the chest. “He just put the gun to his heart and pulled the trigger,” Hakim Abdel, owner of Fulton St. eatery said about the 5 a.m. killing.  “Two seconds — it just took two seconds.”
Lewis, who lived in Bedford-Stuyvesant less than a mile from the diner, was taken to Brooklyn Hospital but could not be saved. “I’ve known him for 20 years,” Abdel said of his slain customer. Source

This is a real tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Jason Lewis. Some people shouldn’t be allowed near a gun.
