Former Rep. Joe Walsh Criticizes Michelle Obama’s Plans to Attend Hadiya Pendleton’s Funeral

Former Tea Party darling Rep. Joe Walsh criticizes Michelle Obama for her plans to attend the funeral of Hadiya Pendleton, who was gunned down in Chicago January 29, one week after participating in President Obama’s inaugural events.

Joe Walsh tweeted, ‘Heartbroken’ Michelle Obama attending funeral of Hadiya Pendleton. I guess the other 553 murder victims didn’t break her heart.” He followed that up with a second tweet, “Most of the 553 Chicago murder victims in 2012 & 2013 were young black males. Is she attending this funeral to make a political point?”

Okay, his point is well taken but I have to ask, how many funerals of young black males in the Chicago area has he attended?

    Janet:

When you rise above your “PSYCHOLOGICAL TRANSFERENCE” and its ability to APPEASE you – you will become a better journalist.

You surmise that Walsh’s failure to attend any “Black funerals’ is a SUPERIOR INDICTMENT than the Black person who MURDERED them.

Yet – the adults who manage the ecosystem within which this deadly consciousness has been fomented are allowed to get their leadership positions REAFFIRMED – because the RACIST WALSH justifies your defensiveness.

Unfortunately the VALUE of the WOULD BE PILLARS OF OUR COMMUNITY is lost in your transaction of intellectual dishonesty.

Constructive Feedback — I take anything Joe Walsh says with a grain of salt, particularly in light of the fact that he was willing to denigrate a veteran who almost lost her life serving her country. As I said before, if he cares so much, how many funerals of murdered young black me has he attended in Chicago? I don’t recall hearing him push for any gun control legislation. I guess he’s pointing a finger at Michelle Obama because it’s a black problem, right?

he’s right! Everyone is making this one little girl out to be so special, as if the other 500+ victims didn’t matter as much because they didn’t go to the inauguration or they weren’t “good” kids as she was. Well everyones child is special in their parents eyes so how dare they put hadiya on a pedestal? None of this national coverage happened when a three year old girl was shot to death on her front porch, or that 7 year old girl was gunned down in front of her mother. I find it very offensive to the families of the other slain victims that this one is getting much more attention and sympathy than their loved ones did. Hell, three more people just were killed in chicago this weekend! Where is the first lady? And for all the people who say that it is impossible for michelle to attend everyones funeral, I understand that. But don’t do something for one person that you don’t do for others.
