Former Boxer Tony Martin Fatally Shot While Collecting Rent at Hunting Park Home

Retired welterweight boxer Tony Martin was killed at a home he owned in Hunting Park. Philadelphia police said Tony Martin , 52, went to the home, located in the 1300 block of West Butler Street to collect rent from the tenant when he was shot in the head inside the home.

A local affiliate of ABC News reports Tony Martin had 34 wins, six losses and one draw  throughout his welterweight boxing career. During his boxing career he worked with the U.S. Postal Service and was still employed as a clerk in southwest Philadelphia.

Police have not identified a suspect, but said that person is on the run. Tony Martin is survived by his wife, children and grandchildren.
