NAVY YARD SHOOTING: Washington D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray said that sequestration cut costs of projects and then “we put people at risk,” in response to questions about Navy Yard shooter Aaron Alexis’ access, whether it was about policy or money.
“Well it’s hard to know, we’ll continue with this investigation, but certainly as I look at, for example, sequestration which is about saving money in the federal government being spent, how we somehow skimped on what would be available for projects like this and then we put people at risk. You know, obviously 12 people have paid the ultimate price for whatever, you know, whatever was done to have this man on the base,” Gray said to CNN’s “New Day.” Source: Politico
Sen. Dianne Feinstein also called for renewed gun control efforts as the National Rifle Association remained quiet. Aaron Alexis had a history of ‘serious’ mental health issues, even claiming to “hear voices.” This begs the question of why was someone with a history of gun issues and serious mental health issues granted security clearance and allowed to purchase guns? Haven’t we heard this storyline before? Namely Adam Lanza, who massacred over 24 people, including first grade students and administrators in Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting?
