Who will be the dark horse of the 2016 presidential election for the Democratic Party? Could Sen. Elizabeth Warren challenge Hillary Clinton for the nomination? The same holds true for the Republicans, though I suspect a Tea Party candidate won’t fare well against any Democratic nominee.

Ron Fournier: “The election is three years away. It might as well be three decades away given the speed of modern culture. In 2005, three years before the Obama-McCain general election, USA Today published the result of a poll showing New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani as the front-runner for the 2008 GOP nomination.”

“Among Democrats, Clinton lapped the pack with 40 percent support. She led both Sens. John Kerry and John Edwards, the 2004 ticket. Obama was not even mentioned. That raises the question: Who is the 2016 dark horse?”

The New Republic:  “A Harvard law professor and best-selling author who led the congressional task force overseeing the bank bailout, Warren was already a liberal icon before she set foot in the Senate last January. Her public floggings of Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner helped make her a fixture on MSNBC, “The Daily Show,” and The Huffington Post.”

“As a result, Warren’s 2012 victory in Massachusetts set off a minor cottage industry of speculation about whether she would be a senator in the mold of other celebrities, like Hillary Clinton and Al Franken, who made collegiality and discretion the hallmarks of their early years in office—or whether she would follow the model of the body’s noisier gadflies, like former South Carolina Senator Jim DeMint and his spiritual successor, Ted Cruz of Texas.”

Wow No references to “Paw Paw” or “Native American ears”. That’s what I like about you Janet – “Straight News, all the time” EXCEPT if the name Sarah Palin or Newt Gingrich or 90% of the other Republicans cross the wires.
