Democratic firebrand Rep. Alan Grayson was slapped with a restraining order after his estranged wife, Lolita Grayson, complained he “deliberately and with force pushed” her “very hard against the front door, causing her to fall to the ground.”
According to the sworn complaint, Lolita Grayson said her estranged husband “showed up, unannounced” as she was preparing to take their two youngest children to a play date and asked to speak with her inside their home.
Mrs. Grayson told police when she refused, he deliberately pushed her very hard against the front door. After Lolita Grayson told her husband not to touch her, she said she pushed him in the face and struck him in the stomach with her knee. She then called 911.
Juan Lopez, an aide to Rep. Grayson, told the Orlando Sentinel that he witnessed the exchange from 15 feet away, and denied that he assaulted anyone.
Alan Grayson’s attorney released a video purportedly showing that he didn’t hit his wife, but she did.
