Kellyanne Conway Pushes Uncorroborated Statement Scalise Shooter Asked if Republicans or Democrats on Field

Senior White House adviser Kellyanne Conway came under blistering criticism after she pushed an uncorroborated statement by Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-SC) that the alleged gunman asked “is this a team of Republicans or Democrats practicing?”

GOP Whip Steve Scalise and four others, including two Capitol police officers, were shot during an early morning baseball practice in Alexandria, Va.

Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) said the shooter was wearing jeans, while Duncan said the man who posed the question to him was wearing running clothes.

It is very irresponsible for Kellyanne Conway to spin this tragedy as a partisan matter, especially since the police have not issued any statements corroborating Duncan’s claims. There is no proof that the shooter is the same guy Duncan encountered. But as usual, Ms. Conway is peddling alternative facts, such as the fictional Bowling Green Massacre.
