Donald Trump said Hurricane Maria that ravaged Puerto Rico wasn’t a “real catastrophe” like Hurricane Katrina because there weren’t as many deaths. Um, I just can’t….The international embarrassment continues.
“Every death is a horror. But if you look at a real catastrophe like Katrina, and you at the tremendous — hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of people that died, and you look at what happened here, with really a storm that was just totally overpowering, nobody’s ever seen anything like this,” he said. “What is your death count as of this moment? 17? 16 people certified, 16 people versus in the thousands, the Washington Post reports.
Um, let’s put this in the proper perspective….we don’t know the true death toll in Puerto Rico because they haven’t certified any deaths in days. Additionally, some towns are cut off because of the devastation. There will be more deaths, for sure.
Donald Trump managed to insult Puerto Ricans again…this time he did it on their soil. He railed about disaster throwing our budget out of whack.
