Attorney General Jeff Sessions paid tribute to the white nationalist movement in America, saying that the “Office of Sheriff is a critical part of the Anglo-American heritage.” Um, in other words — white people.

“The office of Sheriff is a critical part of the Anglo-American heritage of law enforcement.” “We must never erode this historic office,” he said speaking before the was speaking before the National Sheriffs Association.

Vice News’ Tess Owen tweeted that Sessions may have been referring to the Anglo-Saxon origins of the role of the sheriff.

But we all know who Jeff Sessions is and it seems that some of his racism peeked out a little more today than normal. His comments about Anglo-American heritage should put a smile on the face of every white supremacist in the country.

Now is a good time to remind people that Coretta Scott King’s letter warning about Sessions after he was nominated for a federal judgeship. Here’s an excerpt from Mrs. King’s letter:

“Mr. Sessions’ conduct as U.S. Attorney, from his politically-motivated voting fraud prosecutions to his indifference toward criminal violations of civil rights laws, indicates that he lacks the temperament, fairness and judgment to be a federal judge.”

“Based on his record, I believe his confirmation would have a devastating effect on not only the judicial system in Alabama, but also on the progress we have made everywhere toward fulfilling my husband’s dream that he envisioned over twenty years ago.”
