6-Year-Old Marcus Johnson Killed in St. Louis Drive-By Shooting

Six-year-old Marcus Johnson was killed in a drive-by shooting in the 1000 block of McDuff Drive in north St. Louis County Wednesday night.  A 69-year-old man and a 15-year-0ld boy were injured in the shooting.

The shooting occurred as Johnson and his family were leaving O’Fallon Park near Interstate 70. There were three adults and five kids in the minivan.

Johnson’s family said that “a black vehicle pulled alongside their minivan on West Florissant Avenue and someone inside opened fire,” Lt. John Green told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The child’s father, who was driving the minivan, returned fire.

The other children ranged in ages from 7 to 11. Marcus Johnson’s mother was also in the minivan, but was unharmed.

JESUS TAKE THE WHEEL:  DaVontae Ziegler, 15, was shot and killed by his 11-year-old friend outside his home in Nashville, Tenn., on Friday.

Police have charged the 11-year-old, who has not been identified, with homicide in connection with Ziegler’s death.

Metro police spokesman Don Aaron said, “The young man who fired the shot was very concerned about the victim’s welfare and ran to check on him before he fled the immediate scene.”

Philadelphia police officer Robert Wilson III, who was shot in the Swampoodle neighborhood, has died. He was an eight-year verteran of the force.

Officer Wilson was shot three times in a shopping center at the intersection of West Lehigh Avenue and North 21st Street. He was shot once in the head, once in the eye and once in the chest. He was pronounced dead at Temple University Hospital at 6:25 p.m.

Officer Robert Wilson III leaves behind two children, ages one and nine.

The NSA shooter has been identified as Hong Young, 35, a former corrections officer. He lives in the 4900 block of Daisey Creek Terrace in Beltsville, Md. He was arrested this morning and is currently hospitalized under police guard.

He was linked to four shootings through ballistics tests performed by the Prince Georges Police Department’s lab. No-one was injured during Hong Young’s shooting spree. The shootings occurred at the National Security Agency’s building, along the ICC, at a Howard County movie theater and near Arundel Mills Mall.

A veteran Fulton County police officer was ambushed and killed by Amanuel Menghesha early Wednesday near Fairburn, Ga. The officer has been identified as Det. Terence Avery Green, a 22-year veteran of the force.

Green, a graduate of Morris Brown College, was among the officers responding to a call about shots being fired at a home on Chastain Way in unincorporated south Fulton.

The suspect left the home and was roaming around the neighborhood when the cops arrived at the scene after 1 a.m. They were immediately fired upon. As they ran for cover, Det. Green was shot in the back of the head. A second officer was wounded.

Amanuel Menghesha was reportedly known to police from previous alcohol-related calls to his home.

Walesha Williams and her 8-year-old daughter, Paris Williams, were found dead in a New Orleans home in the 14000 block of Duane Road early Tuesday morning. A 29-year-old friend was wounded in the shooting.

WWL-TV reports Paris Williams was supposed to start school on Tuesday after moving back from Texas a week ago to live with her mother.

The injured friend told investigators the gunman took off with a purse, cellphone and money. She was able to identify the suspect before she collapsed.

Neighbors and relatives say the man who pulled the trigger is Walesha Williams’ boyfriend. The NOPD has not confirmed that to be true.

JESUS TAKE THE WHEEL: Kierra’onna Rice, 14, was killed after a Facebook feud led to a planned brawl at a Birmingham, Ala., park.

WBRC reports police say a group of girls who had a spat on Facebook decided to go to a Birmingham park to fight. They intended to videotape the fight and post it online, WBRC reports.

WIAT reports that after the fight broke out, two male teens pulled out guns and started shooting at the girls. Kierra’onna Rice was fatally shot and two others wounded.

The two suspects, ages 17 and 19, have been arrested, but their names have not been released. Police believe one of the suspects was dating one of the girls who was fighting Kierra’onna Rice.

MISSOURI SHOOTING:  Nine people are dead, including the gunman, in a shooting in southeastern Missouri. There are four confirmed crime scenes in Tyrone, two more possible in Shannon County.

According to the Texas County Sheriff’s Department, a juvenile female called the department around 10:15 p.m. and said she heard gunshots in her home. After hearing the gunshots, the girl fled to a neighbor’s home and notified police.

When police arrived to the home they found two people dead of gunshot wounds. Upon further investigation, five other bodies were found and one injured person throughout three different homes in Tyrone, Missouri.

The body of an elderly woman was also found in one of the homes, but she appears to have died due to natural causes, police say.

William Williams, Brother of Cleveland Police Chief, Murdered, Girlfriend Shoots Self

William Williams, the brother of Cleveland, OH, police chief Calvin Williams, was murdered inside a home on the city’s east-side. Dana Johnson, 36, shot herself in the head, after fleeing the home.

Johnson is accused of shooting Williams, the father of her two kids, early Tuesday morning at a home on Grantwood Avenue.

Troopers caught up with Johnson on Route 376 in Lawrence County, Penn. She shot herself in the head as they approached her vehicle.

There are reports that she was taken to an area hospital and is on life support.

Dana Johnson was charged with aggravated murder before she was located in Pennsylvania.

HABERSHAM COUNTY SHOOTING:  Ex-cop Anthony Giaquinta was found dead after shooting the sheriff and deputy in Habersham county, Ga. The suspect’s wife was also killed. Police responded to the home in Cornelia on a domestic violence call.

The sheriff has been identified as Joey Terrell. The deputy has been identified as William Zigan.

Capt. Mark Perry with the Georgia State Patrol said, “We have a domestic situation turned deadly. We have one deceased subject in the residence. The active shooter has entered the woods.” “As EMS and law enforcement arrived, he started shooting at Habersham County Sheriff’s deputies. Two have been wounded. At this point it doesn’t appear serious.”

Anthony Giaquinta, 41, was fired from the Gainesville police department. He and another man were found dead late Sunday.

Sheriff Joey Terrell’s department was in the spotlight when a 19-month-old toddler was critically wounded after SWAT officers threw a flash-bang grenade into his playpen during a raid on a Habersham home.
