Bill Maher: Michael Brown “Was Acting Like a Thug, Not a Gentle Giant”

Real Time” host Bill Maher says Michael Brown “was acting like a thug, not a gentle giant,” when he was gunned down by Ferguson Officer Darren Wilson following a strong arm robbery at a 7-11 convenience store.

BILL MAHER: You know what else I find disturbing is that everybody in America just sides with their own people and doesn’t look at the facts. The cops, I saw on the news a couple of weeks ago, were wearing bracelets or something that said, “I am Darren Wilson.” Why do you want to throw your lot in with this plain murderer?

And Michael Brown’s people. I’m sorry, but Michael Brown’s people say he is a gentle giant. Well, we saw of when he was in that 7-11. No, he wasn’t a gentle giant. He was committing a robbery and he pushed that guy. He was acting like a thug, not a gentle giant. He certainly didn’t deserve to be shot for it. My position is that if Michael Brown struck Officer Wilson, he was wrong and should have been thrown in jail for assault. The question I have is why did Officer Wilson feel he had to fire so many times when he was clearly unarmed? Sounds like Bill Maher will tick off Michael Brown supporters, but that convenience store video doesn’t match the “gentle giant” image his family is painting.

Sen. Rand Paul Slams GOP on Black, Latino Voter Suppression Tactics

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) is slamming the Republican Party for making harder for blacks and Hispanics to vote. In other words, he’s saying, Republicans who support voter ID laws are engaging in racist behavior. Um, I never thought I would say it, but I share comedian Bill Maher’s sentiments on Rand Paul, I could vote for him, if he put together a great platform.

Paul blasted Republicans over the drug laws that “disproportionately affect minorities and has also championed restoring voting rights for some non-violent felons,” Politico reports. He made the comments during a speech at the Liberty PAC conference.

“So many times, Republicans are seen as this party of, ‘We don’t want black people to vote because they’re voting Democrat, we don’t want Hispanic people to vote because they’re voting Democrat,’” he said. “We wonder why the Republican Party is so small. Why don’t we be the party that’s for people voting, for voting rights?”

“The bottom line is, we’re not winning,” he said. “…We’re not winning because, it’s pretty simple, we don’t have enough people in the group yet. The liberty movement has been more open to receiving people of all walks of life… I think we have been much more open, sometimes, than the Republican Party in general.”

He also skewered what he characterized as excessive use of force by police in Ferguson, Missouri, where an unarmed teenager was shot by a police officer, an incident that kicked off weeks of protests fueled by racial tensions.

For what it’s worth, he was associated with a nationalist, but Obama was associated with Bill Ayers at one point and many people didn’t really hold it against him. He went on to win in big numbers in 2008 and then won reelection in 2012. As I stated before, Rand Paul is rough around the edges, but if he packages himself right, and really believes what he’s saying, then he’s a far more credible Republican presidential candidate than New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie or Sens. Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz.

Bill Maher on US Syria Policy: We Don’t Look Like “World’s Policeman But More Like George Zimmerman”

Bill Maher slammed the U.S. for its Syria policy saying “we’re starting to look not so much like the world’s policeman, but more like George Zimmerman, itching to use force and then pretending it’s because we had no choice.” Dang, that’s pretty deep, but so true and President Obama looks a whole lot like his predecessor.

During his final New Rule Friday night, with reference to the U.S. being on the verge of bombing another Middle Eastern country, he said, “America must stop asking, why do they hate us?” He added that “we have to stop bombing Muslim countries if we ever want to feel safe from terrorism in our own.”

Maher asked, “How did we inherit this moral obligation to bring justice to the world via death from above?” “It doesn’t make any sense. Our schools are crumbling and we want to teach everyone else a lesson.”

President Obama is being raked over hot coals for his decision to seek Congressional approval for any military strikes against Syria over Bashar Al Assad allegedly use of neurotoxin sarin on his people. Comedian Bill Maher weighed in on Twitter, saying, “Kudos to Barry for restoring constitution re war powers. Tea People shld luv it but of course wont cuz President Blackenstein did it.”

Others aren’t embracing President Obama’s decision to punt to Congress on a possible military offensive. The Washington Post reports that Syrian state-run newspaper Al-Thawra published a front-page article boldly predicting that President Obama’s decision was the beginning of American “retreat:”

“Whether the Congress lights the red or green light for an aggression, and whether the prospects of war have been enhanced or faded, President Obama has announced yesterday, by prevaricating or hinting, the start of the historic American retreat.”

Syrian opposition activist Tariq al-Dimashqi also weighed in saying “We are so deeply disappointed.” “This is all just another political game. If they wanted to hit Assad, they would attack immediately, no delay, no warning.”

Wayne Brady Slams Bill Maher for Saying Obama Acts Like a “Wayne Brady” Figure, Not “Stereotypical Scary Black Man”

Comedian Wayne Brady calls out Bill Maher for his racist rhetoric. Brady took offense to Maher’s complaint that President Obama doesn’t act enough like “a stereotypical scary black man,” instead acting more like a “Wayne Brady” figure. It’s not often that I link to Glenn Beck’s The Blaze website, but this article was too interesting to ignore:

But even Bill Maher — like, I’ve had Bill Maher twice now, when referencing Obama, he’s like, ‘Yeah, you know, with your Wayne Brady.’ So, that means it’s a diss to Obama to be called me because he wants a brother-brother, or what he perceives. Just because you f*ck black hookers, just because you have that particular black experience, and I have to stop myself from getting into it, Bill, because I realize the thing is that if I were to go on his show, or even do it online, I’m not going to win because as soon as you back off, he still has his platform to say whatever he wants to.

If he once said I want to know how black Wayne Brady is — that chip on my shoulder says that rarely do you threaten a man and you should not fear anyone. Now, I’m not saying I’m Billy Badass, but if Bill Maher has his perception of what’s black wrapped up, I would gladly slap the shit out of Bill Maher in the middle of the street, and then I want to see what Bill Maher would do.

Now, Bill Maher would call the cops and he would have his lawyer — I’d get sued and lose my house and it’s not worth it for me, but the black man part of me would be so satisfied to slap the shit out of him in front of Cocoa and Ebony and Fox, the three ladies of the night that he has hired … and Fancy, who also happened to be named Tyrique at one point.

We have long maintained that Bill Maher is not funny and hurls misogynistic comments every chance he gets. But dang, Wayne Brady went in on Maher hard. Can’t say I blame him one bit, but I doubt Bill Maher will care.

Liberal Comedian Bill Maher Takes on Rep. Allen West on Ape Comment

Liberal comedian Bill Maher took on Tea Party wingnut Rep. Allen West (R-FL) on HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher Friday night, objecting to West using his name in letters soliciting campaign donations. Rep. West claims in his literature that Bill Maher called him an ape. Well, I wouldn’t call Rep. Allen West an ape. He’s more of a total moron. Rep. Allen West should know he can’t win with Bill Maher, who has said some pretty misogynistic things in the past.

Separately, Bill Maher suggested that Mitt Romney pick George Zimmerman, the overzealous neighborhood watch captain charged with second degree murder in the death of teen Trayvon Martin. The comedian said Romney’s campaign theme should be, “I think the black guy is up to no good.” He started his New Rule by joking that Romney must wait until he gets back from vacation before choosing a running mate. The show is about to go on hiatus for the summer. Maher admitted that deep down he secretly wants Mitt Romney to win because he is a goldmine of comedic material.

Bill Maher responds to Rep. Allen West:

Bristol Palin Writes Open Letter to President Obama Over Sandra Fluke Phone Call for Limbaugh “Slut” Comment

at a book signing in Phoenix, Arizona on July ...

IBristol Palin Writes Open Letter to President Obama Over Sandra Fluke Apology (Wikipedia)

Bristol Palin, daughter of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who was also caught up in some baby-daddy drama, has written a blog post directed at President Obama. Here’s an excerpt:

Dear President Obama,

You don’t know my telephone number, but I hope your staff is busy trying to find it. Ever since you called Sandra Fluke after Rush Limbaugh called her a slut, I figured I might be next.  You explained to reporters you called her because you were thinking of your two daughters, Malia and Sasha.  After all, you didn’t want them to think it was okay for men to treat them that way:

“One of the things I want them to do as they get older is engage in issues they care about, even ones I may not agree with them on,” you said.  “I want them to be able to speak their mind in a civil and thoughtful way. And I don’t want them attacked or called horrible names because they’re being good citizens.”

And I totally agree your kids should be able to speak their minds and engage the culture.  I look forward to seeing what good things Malia and Sasha end up doing with their lives.

But here’s why I’m a little surprised my phone hasn’t rung.  Your $1,000,000 donor Bill Maher has said reprehensible things about my family.  He’s made fun of my brother because of his Down’s Syndrome. He’s said I was “f—-d so hard a baby fell out.”  (In a classy move, he did this while his producers put up the cover of my book, which tells about the forgiveness and redemption I’ve found in God after my past – very public — mistakes.)

If Maher talked about Malia and Sasha that way, you’d return his dirty money and the Secret Service would probably have to restrain you.  After all, I’ve always felt you understood my plight more than most because your mom was a teenager.  That’s why you stood up for me when you were campaigning against Sen. McCain and my mom — you said vicious attacks on me should be off limits.

First of all, yes, there is a terrible double standard on both ends of the political spectrum, but President Obama has no control over the Super PAC and who they take money from. Bill Maher should be held to the same standard as Rush Limbaugh. Secondly, we all know Bristol Palin didn’t write this. Her mother probably did. Thirdly, she’s putting herself out there to get slammed big time. Hey, Bristol, why aren’t you trying to get a college education? I bet when Sasha and Malia Obama are your age, they won’t be baby mamas.

Andrew Breitbart Columnist Dan Riehl Accuses Democrats of Inciting Death Threats Against Rush Limbaugh

The so-called publishing empire of the late Andrew Breitbart continues to churn out right wing bullsh*t. The latest is an article written by Dan Riehl accusing the Democrats of inciting death threats against Rush Limbaugh after he called Georgetown University law student Sandra Fluke a “slut” and a “prostitute” over her birth control testimony. Um, Dan Riehl, get real and stop the inflammatory rhetoric. How many Democrats received death threats from Tea Party supporters over their Obamacare vote and over their stance on many issues? Andrew Breitbart led the charge on that front. Wait, remember Shirley Sherrod? It doesn’t feel so good now when the right is in the hot seat, right?

For the record, Rush Limbaugh apologized twice for denigrating Sandra Fluke, not from the goodness of his cinder block heart, but because advertisers, 30 from the last count, have jumped ship and radio stations are fleeing. You see, you can’t have it both ways. Had that been a Democrat, the outrage would have been the same. So, let’s quit the BS.

Limbaugh has already apologized for twice, the popular Conservative talk radio host is now the target of multiple death threats by the very same storm troops Obama and the Democrat Party unleashed in what even HBO host Bill Maher has acknowledged is a witch hunt with intimidation as its goal.

Maher: Hate to defend #RushLimbaugh but he apologized, liberals looking bad not accepting. Also hate intimidation by sponsor pullout

“I want your blood … coming to Florida … gonna pay you a visit my friend you love to pick on people get ready fatso,” is just one of many hateful threats regularly directed at Limbaugh as a result of the Democrat’s campaign.

“Execute Rush, now!” states one; “Don’t just drop sponsorship someone kill this pig now please!!!!,” reads another. These and others are documented below with images and names obscured, so as not to fuel the same targeted hatred the White House and Democrats have now gone to great lengths to stoke. Source: Big Government

As for quoting Bill Maher, he’s just as misogynistic as Rush Limbaugh and Ed Schultz. Funny, Dan Riehl is feigning ignorance when it comes to the inflammatory and oftentimes racist comments left on all the sites under the Andrew Breitbart publishing arm, that have called President Obama and Michelle Obama,  a nigger, a monkey, a gorilla, a terrorist lover, among other unsavory words. The truth is, Dan Riehl and what’s left of the “Andrew Breitbart” empire need to pick the speck out of their own eyes first before accusing the Democrats or anyone else of inciting death threats against Rush Limbaugh.
