Sharron Cantrell, the principal of Spring Hill Elementary School, was identified as one of the victims in a shooting at a Columbia, Tenn., home on Saturday.

Cantrell reportedly suffered a gunshot wound to the head, the Columbia Daily Herald reports. The shooting occurred at a home on West 11th Street.

Cantrell’s brother, Tom Caulk, was also killed in the shooting, which was the result of a domestic dispute at the home. The Columbia Daily Herald reports Caulk fatally shot his sister and was later killed by her husband, Terry Cantrell. Caulk was found dead in the 400 block of West 11th Street, police said.

Terry Cantrell was also shot, but has not been charged with any crimes, as the Columbia Police Department continues to investigate the matter. Police believe the shooting stemmed from an ongoing family dispute.

Sharron Cantrell has served as principal since 2009. She was an alderwoman for Ward 3 in Spring Hill until she lost her re-election bid in 2007.

Jose Garcia Rodriguez, 57, of Palm Bay fatally shot another man, and wounded Ida Garcia, 33, before committing suicide in the food court area of the Melbourne Square Mall in Melbourne, Fla., on Saturday morning.

Melbourne Police Department Cmdr. Vincent Pryce said Jose Garcia Rodriguez and Ida Garcia were married, WESH-TV reports.

The second man was not identified. Ida Garcia is expected to make a full recovery.

JESUS TAKE THE WHEEL:  Julio Resto, 51, pleaded guilty to the stabbing death of his wife, Gloria Resto, 42, after the two got into an argument over a Christmas gift, CBS Boston reports. He was ordered held without bail.

Police say Julio Resto tried to strangle his wife and then stabbed her to death with a kitchen knife in their Waltham, Mass., apartment early Wednesday morning.

Julio Resto told police his wife was upset with him because he did not buy her a Christmas gift. He then tried to commit suicide by stuffing a towel in the exhaust pipe of his car. That did not work.

Resto said he drove to Waltham police headquarters and shouted at police officers to “shoot me, I have nothing to live for. I just killed my wife,” CBS News reports.

JESUS TAKE THE WHEEL:  Darryl Warren was arrested in Jacksonville after bludgeoning his wife to death during a domestic dispute in their St. Petersburg, Fla., home.

Warren fled the scene after killing his wife, Barbara, 57, at 3033 Melrose Avenue South.

Darryl Warren has a criminal history which includes prison sentences for first-degree attempted murder, aggravated child abuse and grand theft auto in 1993.

PORT ORANGE MURDER-SUICIDE:  A father and two children are dead, third child in critical condition in Port Orange shooting. The Volusia County Sheriff Ben Johnson said the man shot his kids and turned the gun on himself in an apparent double murder-suicide stemming from a domestic dispute at a home located at 1927 Jackson Lane, Port Orange.

Police have not released the names of the victims, but property records show the five-bedroom home was purchased by David and Cynthia Mahoney in 2010.

Police say the woman fled to a neighbor’s home to get help before the argument with her husband turned deadly. She told the neighbor her husband had threatened her with a gun. Moments later, gunshots rang out. Police were called to the home at about 5:11 a.m. Friday.

Police say the couple’s two oldest children and their father were killed; a 9-year-old girl is in critical condition at a local hospital. David and Cynthia Mahoney had moved to Florida from South Dakota. They had filed for divorce and a temporary injunction had been served in June. According to the divorce papers, they have three kids — David, Lauren and Savanna.

PEACHTREE CORNERS MURDER-SUICIDE:  Brandon McLean,30, fatally shot Andre McLean, 19, and Kayla Serrano, 13, and wounded his mother and her sister before turning the gun on himself.

Brandon McLean’s mother was identified as Betty McLean and her sister, Charlotte Longnecker. Both women are listed in serious condition in a local hospital.

Police are still trying to determine the motive for the shooting at condo located at 6505 Bannor Lane.

SHOCK: Bell Gardens Mayor Daniel Crespo was shot and killed by his wife, Levette Crespo, during a domestic dispute in his home, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Crespo, 45, was shot around 2:30 p.m. in his home in the 6300 block of Gage Avenue during an argument with his wife, 43, and his 19-year-old son [Daniel Crespo Jr.], said Nicole Nishida, Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman.

An altercation allegedly began with Crespo and his wife, at which, his son intervened, Nishida said. While father and son were fighting, Crespo’s wife allegedly got a gun and shot Crespo, Nishida said.

Crespo was alive when he was transported to a hospital, Bell Gardens Fire Department officials confirmed.

According to his bio on the Bell Gardens website, Daniel Crespo, who was born in Brooklyn, NY,  married his high school sweetheart in 1986. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice/Public Administration from Cal State University. He served as a deputy probation officer for Los Angeles County.

NBC Los Angeles:  Mayor Daniel Crespo punched the couple’s 19-year-old son, Daniel Jr., in the face when the teen tried to intervene during the dispute, investigators said. The wife then allegedly shot the mayor multiple times in his upper body.

MARIETTA MURDER-SUICIDE:  Paula Strange, 54, shot and killed her husband, Bruce Strange, and then turned the gun on herself in an apparent murder-suicide in front of a Kroger supermarket in Marietta, Ga., police said.

Police said the shooting came only minutes after the couple, who lived in Kennesaw, had an argument over dinner at a Moe’s Southwest Grill in the same shopping center as Kroger on Dallas Highway.

There are reports that Bruce Strange abruptly left the restaurant while the two argued. A Moe’s Southwest Grill worker said, “The gentleman went to the bathroom, ran out the door, jumped over the patio fence and ran behind the restaurant.”

Paula Strange left the restaurant and chased after him in her car. A few minutes later, she shot her husband and then committed suicide.

Violet Lambert died after being shot in the parking lot of Cumberland Mall outside Macy’s. The suspected shooter, Danny Wray Brown, was found dead inside an East Point home from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Violet Lambert, 55, was shot near the main entrance of Macy’s on the west side of the mall on Monday. Investigators said witnesses heard an argument between Lambert and Brown in the parking lot before the shooting took place.

A bystander tried to help Lambert but was fired upon by the suspect. The bystander was not injured. Police believe Violet Lambert and Danny Wray Brown knew each other.

Investigators said Brown calmly got into a white van after the shooting and then drove away. The van was later tracked to East Point, where he was found dead.

Cook County Sheriff’s correctional officer, Javier Acevedo, killed his wife, Chicago Police Officer Veronica Acevedo, then turned the gun on himself in what appears to be a murder-suicide in their Southwest Side home Sunday.

Cook County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Cara Smith said someone inside the home, located in the 5300 block of South Austin Avenue, called 911 shortly after 5 a.m. Police found the couple unresponsive when they arrived at the Garfield Ridge home.

Veronica Acevedo, 50, served with the CPD for 18 years and won 23 department awards during her career, Chicago Police Officer Jose Estrada said.

Javier Acevedo, 50, worked as a Cook County Sheriff’s correctional officer for 25 years. He had been working in Division 8 of the county jail, Smith said. Police have launched a homicide investigation.
