Sharron Cantrell, the principal of Spring Hill Elementary School, was identified as one of the victims in a shooting at a Columbia, Tenn., home on Saturday.
Cantrell reportedly suffered a gunshot wound to the head, the Columbia Daily Herald reports. The shooting occurred at a home on West 11th Street.
Cantrell’s brother, Tom Caulk, was also killed in the shooting, which was the result of a domestic dispute at the home. The Columbia Daily Herald reports Caulk fatally shot his sister and was later killed by her husband, Terry Cantrell. Caulk was found dead in the 400 block of West 11th Street, police said.
Terry Cantrell was also shot, but has not been charged with any crimes, as the Columbia Police Department continues to investigate the matter. Police believe the shooting stemmed from an ongoing family dispute.
Sharron Cantrell has served as principal since 2009. She was an alderwoman for Ward 3 in Spring Hill until she lost her re-election bid in 2007.
