Self-righteous Republican presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee says being gay is part of a lifestyle, like drinking and swearing, CNN reports. Um, we know who won’t be the GOP presidential nominee for the 2016 elections.
During an interview with CNN’s Dana Bash, Huckabee said expecting Christians to accept same sex marriage is “like asking someone who is Jewish to start serving bacon-wrapped shrimp in their deli.”
On the issue of being gay a lifestyle choice, Mike Huckabee said, “People can be my friends who have lifestyles that are not necessarily my lifestyle. I don’t shut people out of my circle or out of my life because they have a different point of view. I don’t drink alcohol, but gosh — a lot of my friends, maybe most of them, do. You know, I don’t use profanity, but believe me, I’ve got a lot of friends who do. Some people really like classical music and ballet and opera — it’s not my cup of tea.”
So much for the party of inclusiveness. Mike Huckabee has insulted yet another important group of voters, in additions to black, Hispanic and young voters. No word yet from RNC chief Reince Priebus on Huckabee’s comments.
Just to put this all in context, Mike Huckabee also blamed the Newtown school shooting massacre on taking God out of schools.
