Middle Georgia State College Cochran freshman Jmaal Keyes was murdered. Hawkinsville teen Robert Kane Rolison was arrested Thursday night and charged with the murder of Jmaal Keyes, who disappeared two weeks ago after his sister dropped him off at the school.

MGSC Interim President John Black issued a statement:  “We are absolutely devastated by this news. There just are no words to describe how deeply hurt we are and how terrible we feel for Jmaal’s family. I wish to convey my heartfelt condolences to everyone in his family, and everyone who knew Jmaal. We ask everyone in the Middle Georgia community to keep this family in their thoughts and prayers in the days and weeks to come. We will cooperate in every way to help law enforcement authorities complete their investigation.”

Police did not release a motive for Jmaal Keyes’ murder, nor did they describe the actual killing. WMAZ reports Robert Kane Rolison, who is a dual-enrolled high school/MGSC student, is currently being held in the Bleckley County Jail.

Body of Openly Gay MS Mayoral Candidate Marco McMillian Found, Homicide Suspected

Lawrence Reed, 22, identified as the person of interest in police custody in the murder of openly gay mayoral candidate Marco McMillian, whose body was found Wednesday in Coahoma County, Miss.

Marco McMillian’s body was found near the Mississippi River, between Sherard and Rena Lara. He had been missing since early Tuesday. He was discovered missing after an accident involving his SUV Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m. near the Coahoma County-Tallahatchie County line.

Lawrence Reed, who was driving McMillian’s SUV, collided head-on with another vehicle. The mayoral candidate wasn’t in the vehicle at the time of the accident and that prompted a search for his whereabouts, the Clarion-Ledger reports.

South African Olympian Oscar Pistorius arrested after his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp was found shot to death at his Pretoria home early Thursday morning.

The circumstances of the shooting aren’t clear. He is expected to make his first court appearance today. The Paralympian gold medalist will be charged with murder.  Reeva Steenkamp was a former FHM model. She was reportedly shot several times — in the head, arm and chest. A 9mm pistol was found at the scene.

According to media reports, Oscar Pistorius, known as the “blade runner,” will face an opposition to bail by the police. Police spokeswoman Denise Beukes said Oscar Pistorius and Reeva Steenkamp were the only two people present at the home located in the the gated Silver Woods community. There were no signs of forced entry at the home. Beukes said there had been reports about previous problems at Pistorius’ home since 2011 which were “allegations of a domestic nature.”

The Silver Woods Country Estates released a statement on its website saying:  ”We are deeply saddened by the tragic circumstances that occurred today at Silver Woods. Our sincere condolences, thoughts and prayers go out to Reeva Steenkamp’s family and friends.”

The Daily Mail is reporting the shooting was accidental, but the South African police aren’t quite so sure about that, saying they are “surprised to hear” media reports that the shooting may have been the result of a case of mistaken identity.

The Mail & Guardian reports Oscar Pistorius will be kept in custody and bail will be opposed. There was no sign of forced entry into Pistorius’ house. Television channel  M-Net withdrew its advertising campaign featuring Pistorius on Thursday.

Levittown Exterminator Jason Smith Charged with Murder in Slaying of Dr. Melissa Ketunuti

Jason Smith, 36, of Crescent Lane, Levittown, was charged with murder Thursday in the slaying of Dr. Melissa Ketunuti, who was found strangled, with her hands and feet bound, and set on fire in the basement of her Philadelphia house.

Smith, who works for an extermination company, had an appointment at Ketunuti’s home the day she was killed. He gave a statement that he attacked her and killed her in the home after an argument. Sources said Smith struck, then strangled Ketunuti. He set the body ablaze. She was not sexually assaulted, police have said. Ketunuti let Smith into her home, Clark said. The two got into a fight during the appointment.

The surveillance video shows Smith entering Ketunuti’s home wearing a coat, and gloves, and carrying a work bag. He was seen leaving about 50 minutes without a coat. Ketunuti had been running errands around the neighborhood just before the encounter with Smith.

Sources say police scoured Ketunuti’s personal records, including her phone, and found that she had an appointment with an extermination company. They traced a number to Smith’s phone.

Police sources say Smith gave a statement confessing to the crime during questioning. Source

Jason Smith reportedly admitted to the crime and was charged with murder and the abuse of a corpse, Capt. James Clark of the Philadelphia police homicide unit, said. Smith, who was seen on a surveillance video at a coffee shop near the home of Melissa Ketunuti, was arrested Wednesday night at a home he shared with his girlfriend and their child.

Four Charged in the Murders of Eric Glover and Terrence Rankins in Joliet

Alisa Massaro, 18; Bethany McKee, 18; Adam Landerman, 19; and Joshua Miner, 24, have been charged with the deaths of Eric Glover, 22, and, Terrence Rankins, 22, in Joliet. The bodies of the two men were found in Massaro’s house in the 1100-block of North Hickory Street.

Eric Glover and Terrence Rankins were reportedly strangled to death and there was an attempt to dismember the bodies,the coroner’s office said. Adam Landerman is the son of a police sergeant. The men were reportedly lured to the home where they were robbed and killed.

THANKSGIVING DAY MURDER:  Calvin Wright fatally shot his girlfriend, Rolisha Thomas, in the middle of a Jacksonville, Fla., street, as she tried to end their relationship on Thanksgiving. Police said Thomas got in an argument with Wright, that spilled out onto Almeda Street on the city’s northwest side, the Florida Times-Union reports.

Calvin Wright shot Rolisha Thomas multiple times. She was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Calvin Wright fled the scene of the murder and is still at large. He was released from prison a few months ago. Rolisha Thomas was 24 years old.

A garment salesman, Salvatore Perrone, from Staten Island, was arrested in the murders of three New York store owners as they worked alone in their shops. Salvatore Perrone is currently being held without bond and awaiting another court appearance after his arraignment, the NY Daily News reports. Dubbed “John Doe Duffel Bag,” Perrone, who is 64 years old, was brought in for questioning on Tuesday. He is charged with the murders of Isaac Kadare, Mohammed Gebeli and Rahmatollah Vahidipour. The NY Daily News reports that on Wednesday a gun owned by Salvatore Perrone, who is now charged, was tied to the crimes.

JESUS TAKE THE WHEEL:  Two year old Sasha Lamaya Ray was allegedly stabbed to death by her 13 year old half-sister,  Tyasia Jackson, Monday in DeKalb County, Ga.

WSBTV reports the toddler was found dead behind her home on Waldrop Trail, and the teenager, who was allegedly babysitting her siblings, will be charged with her death.

Tyasia Jackson will be charged as an adult. It is quite obvious the teen was upset about something, but to kill the baby? That’s just heinous.

SHOCK:  An Upper West Side nanny Yoselyn Ortega reportedly stabbed to death two small children of CNBC media executive Kevin Krim and his pediatrician wife Marina Krim. Yoselyn Ortega then slit her throat in a botched suicide attempt Thursday afternoon at the La Rochelle luxury apartment building on 75th Street. The mother of the children returned home at about 5:34 p.m. with another child and found Yoselyn Ortega, 50, in a pool of blood in the kitchen and her two youngest children, ages two and six, in the bathroom with several stab wounds to their bodies, the NY Post reports.

The children, Lulu and Leo, were rushed to St. Luke’s Hospital. The 50-year-old nanny was also taken to St. Luke’s with wounds to her neck and throat. The nanny, who has not yet been charged, was listed in critical but stable condition.

It was unclear where the children’s father — Kevin Krim, CNBC’s general manager of digital content — was when the kids were found. Police said Marina Krim discovered the bodies after she returned home from her 3-year-old daughter’s swimming practice.

The apartment was pitch-black and dead quiet, prompting Krim to go downstairs and ask a doorman if he saw the nanny leave with her kids, NYPD Commissioner Raymond Kelly said. After the doorman said no, she went back upstairs, walked into the blood-spattered bathroom and started screaming. Source

A picture of the nanny has been released. I can’t help but feel real sorrow for her as well. She snapped, but why? The above photograph was taken on a Krim family trip the Dominican Republic in February, shows her holding 6-year-old Lucia and her 3-year-old sister, Nessie. She is a native of the Dominican Republic. Some people are asking why stay-at-home moms need nannies. Why blame Marina Krim? She had no way of knowing that evil was about to land in her home and claim two of her children.

Warren Vincent Crutcher Person of Interest Murders of Five People, Including Child, in TN and Alabama

Police are searching for Warren Vincent Crutcher after five bodies were found in Alabama and Tennessee, with the latest victim, Jeffrey Pope found dead. Monday night, police found the body of Jessica Brown at her home in Fayetteville, TN, and her two month old son was unharmed. Hours earlier, the bodies of Amber McCaulley, Chabreya Campbell and Campbell’s 18-month-old son, Rico England, were found in another Fayetteville home.

According to WSMV, Crutcher, 24,  is about 5’11″,  weighs about 165 pounds and is  believed to be driving a 4-door, white Hyundai Elantra rental car from Enterprise with Alabama license plate 47V29A8.
