Well, Frederick Goings’ law license just went bye-bye. Actually, it is the least of his worries, since he has only been practicing law since April 2005. He has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the shooting deaths of NY Knicks’ Eddy Curry’s former girlfriend Nova Henry and her 9-month-old daughter, Ava.

Police said Goings was arrested Friday evening as he was getting into his car outside a relative’s place in Chicago. Goings has not made any statements to authorities and is not cooperating in the investigation, Lt. Denis Walsh said. Court records show that Goings was Henry’s attorney in a paternity case with Curry involving Ava. Source: Chicago Tribune

As you will recall, the bodies of Henry and her daughter, Ava, were found in their Chicago apartment on Jan. 24. Both died of multiple gunshot wounds.Police said Goings and Henry had “a relationship” and the motive for the shooting was “domestic related” but declined to elaborate.

According to police, Nova Henry let Goings into the apartment on Jan. 24 and the two quarreled. Only a real cruel person can turn the gun on an innocent baby. I hope he rots in prison, where he belongs. Another unscrupulous lawyer. This is another case of domestic violence and it is pathetic. There needs to be stiffer laws concerning domestic violence. This woman and her daughter did not deserve this barbaric treatment at the hands of this man.

UPDATE#1:  Frederick Goings pleads not guilty to the charges against him yesterday. According to the Chicago Tribune, Goings appeared Thursday before Cook County Circuit Judge Jorge Alonso for arraignment.

The Chicago Tribune also said that during an earlier hearing in which Goings was ordered held without bail, prosecutors said his sport-utility vehicle was parked outside Nova Henry’s town home that morning, hours before she and her infant daughter, Ava, were found shot to death. Noah, 3, was found asleep.

UPDATE#2 (09/11/12):  Frederick Goings’ trial for the murders of Nova Henry and her daughter Ava, was tentatively set for October 26, ABC News reports. He will appear in court for another status hearing on September 25. Finally some justice for Nova Henry and Ava Curry.

Eddy Curry, NY Knicks Player, Faces More Drama, Nova Henry, Mother of His Three-Year Old Son, Found Murdered, Along with Her Infant Daughter

Drama is still following NY Knicks player Eddy Curry. Nova Henry, the mother of his toddler son, was found fatally shot in her Chicago apartment. As you will recall, Curry is embroiled in a lawsuit filed by his former limousine driver with allegations of sexual harassment and racial discrimination. The suit alleges the athlete made unwelcome sexual advances, once pointed a gun at him, performed “invidious and intentional acts of discrimination” and subjected him to “derogatory, abusive, anti-Semitic epithets.”

Police said that Henry, 24, and her infant daughter, Ava, were found dead about 6 p.m. in the 0-99 block of West 15th Street. Officers found Henry’s 3-year-old son in the Burnham Station apartment unharmed. Police are searching for a “known acquaintance” of the woman in connection with the murder. Henry’s mother found her daughter and granddaughter in the apartment, officials said.

Curry, who is a married father of four, has reportedly maintained that he is not the father of Ava Henry. Court records show that Nova Henry filed two separate petitions to establish parentage in November 2005 and September 2008. He is reportedly very active in his son’s life.
