Absurdity: Edward Snowden Blames US for Being Stuck in Russia

EDWARD SNOWDEN INTERVIEW:  I can’t bring myself to watch NBC’s Brian Williams’ interview with National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden. I still refuse to call him a whistleblower because of the way he hightailed it out of the U.S. I briefly skimmed through the NBC article about the interview and I am amazed at his hubris.

Snowden believes the reason he’s in Russia is because the U.S. government blocked him from going to South America. Um, you think?  So, let me get this straight…. he messes with the president of the world’s superpower, who has no qualms about using drones, and he thinks they would allow him to trot all the way to South America just like that? What a moron! It’s silly to suggest the U.S. would look the other way when he broke the law.

“The reality is I never intended to end up in Russia,” he said. “I had a flight booked to Cuba onwards to Latin America and I was stopped because the United States government decided to revoke my passport and trap me in Moscow Airport.

“So when people ask why are you in Russia, I say, ‘Please ask the State Department.” Source: NBC

I would have been in Edward Snowden’s corner if he hadn’t ran off to two of the world’s worst countries where human rights violations and free speech are concerned. All I can say is that he’s lucky to still be alive and well….
