Two new witnesses have come forward in the Michael Brown shooting and they corroborate with the other witnesses told investigators and the media. The two men, who are white, can be seen on video reacting to Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson shooting the unarmed teen, CNN reports. The video was shot by a bystander on a cellphone.
One of the men can be heard shouting, “He had his f*cking hands in the air,” in the moments after Darren Wilson gunned down Michael Brown.
The footage was aired during “Anderson Cooper 360” Wednesday night. It was reportedly filmed by an unidentified man near the scene of the shooting.
CNN spoke with the two men in the video. They did not wish to be identified, but said they saw the shooting from about 50 yards away. The man shown in the video wearing a pink shirt, told CNN, he saw Brown staggering and putting his hands up, saying, “Okay, okay, okay” and that Wilson “didn’t say get on the ground, he just kept shooting.”
The second man seen in the video, wearing a green shirt, told CNN he saw the teen running away from the police officer with his hands up as Wilson chased him. He also said Wilson shot the teen again with his back turned.
It is important to note that these two men have no connection to Michael Brown and his family. The fact that they corroborate what other witnesses have said is very powerful. They don’t have an ax to grind in this teen’s untimely death. I have to ask, why hasn’t Darren Wilson been arrested? There is certainly probable cause for an arrest. Are police officers — white police officers — above the law?
