The DCCC hit GOP runoff candidate Karen Handel in a new digital ad campaign that’s meant to peel off Republican voters in Georgia’s 6th Congressional District that points to a microsite — “CantHandelTheTruth.com.
According to a news release from the DCCC, Republican voters are pointed to the microsite where users can take the quiz, “Ouch! Who Said THAT about Karen Handel?”
Quiz takers who think only Democrats are concerned with Handel’s history as a big-spending career politician will likely score poorly. As Republican voters in Georgia see quote after quote about Handel from Georgia Senator David Perdue, primary opponents state Senator Dan Moody and businessman Bob Gray, and the conservative Super PAC Club For Growth, it will be hard not to leave the page demotivated and depressed at their Party’s nominee in the June 20th special election.
“Karen Handel is a career politician with a history of wasteful spending, and that’s according to Republicans, so don’t take our word for it,” said DCCC Spokesman Evan Lukaske. “Just ask Georgia Senator David Perdue or state Senator Dan Moody or businessman Bob Gray, and they’ll tell you that Georgia doesn’t need another big-spending career politician like Karen Handel in Washington.”
The ad campaign begins on May 3, 2017, and targets Republican voters in Georgia’s 6thCongressional District. The campaign specifically targets the groups “Very Conservative,” “Conservative,” “Fiscal Conservatism” and “Republican.”
The ad comes as a new poll finds Democrat Jon Ossoff leading Handel 48-47 percent, with five percent undecided.
