Donald Trump broke his Twitter silence on the Comey testimony to tell more lies and claim “total and complete vindication.” That’s even though former FBI Director James Comey called Trump a liar repeatedly during his explosive testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee.
Trump tweeted: “Despite so many false statements and lies, total and complete vindication…and WOW, Comey is a leaker!”

Trump, without citing evidence, accused Comey of perjury. This is the same many who is a serial liar. Only someone with a small mind like Donald Trump would claim he was vindicated by a testimony that disclosed he may be under investigation for obstruction of justice.
Let’s see if the Republicans are going to push for made-up perjury charges against Comey because they have no backbone. You will recall, Trump libeled former President Obama by tweeting that he wiretapped his phones in Trump Tower. He had zero evidence of that, but that didn’t stop people like Sen. Lindsey Graham and Rep. Devin Nunes from looking down that rabbit hole and coming up empty.
By the way, Comey shared a memo with a friend who relayed it to NY Times reporter Michael Schmidt while he was a private citizen. The memo was not classified and he was totally within his right to defend himself after Trump blathered on and on about his firing to NBC’s Lester Holt, Russian envoys and on Twitter.
Reaction on Twitter:
Trump just tweeted calling Comey's testimony "false statements and lies." Yes, the president is accusing the former FBI Director of perjury.
