Donald Trump continues to drop the hammer on himself by rage-tweeting about the FBI and James Comey as special counsel Robert Mueller moves closer and closer to the Oval Office in the Russian election interference investigation.
Trump spent his Saturday stewing and tweeting, starting with snitching on himself that he knew Michael Flynn had lied to the FBI and that he fired James Comey after he wouldn’t drop the investigation. Now he managed to get one of his lawyers, John Dowd, to fall on the sword and take the blame for the tweet. Um, we know better.
Trump tweeted: “I had to fire General Flynn because he lied to the Vice President and the FBI. He has pled guilty to those lies. It is a shame because his actions during the transition were lawful. There was nothing to hide!”

The tweetstorm comes after Robert Mueller shocked everyone with the arrest of Michael Flynn for lying to the FBI about his conversation with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak. Nothing leaked. Not even the White House had any advance warning that Flynn’s guilty plea and court appearance was coming on Friday.
Trump tweeted on Sunday morning: “I never asked Comey to stop investigating Flynn. Just more Fake News covering another Comey lie.”

Trump also went on national television to admit that he fired Comey because of the Russia investigation. He told NBC News’ Lester Holt that was his reason for getting rid of Comey.
The person who has been caught in lie after lie isn’t James Comey, who has had a long and distinguished career in law enforcement, but Trump. Comey, who upset many Democrats with his handling of Hillary Clinton’s email investigation, still respect and tout Comey’s honesty and integrity. The only person attacking Comey on that front is a pathological, delusional buffoon.
Legal experts say that Trump’s continued attacks on the Justice Department, James Comey, Michael Flynn and Hillary Clinton can be used against him in Mueller’s investigation. Imagine getting Trump under oath in a deposition? The dude would literally shoot himself in the foot, one lie at a time.
I dare Donald Trump to fire Robert Mueller. That would literally be a suicide mission on his part. Why? Do you honestly think Mueller has no contingency plans in place? He took us by surprise with George Papadopoulos’ guilty plea for lying to the FBI. Nobody had an inkling that this guy was arrested from back in the summer. Mueller brought down John Gotti. He’s no slouch or one to be taken lightly, especially by an ignoramus like Trump.
